Movie Outing

Sunday is my usual movie outing day as its the only day I can meet up with my friends but if I'm going by myself as I'm wont to do then I go out on a Saturday. Anyway today I finally went to see the movie Silent Hill and my response to the film was that I was capitivated right through the entire thing. I must say that I do enjoy the experience of dark films sometimes and this was one of those. I watched the movie with a hand over my mouth or close to my mouth, not that I was afraid of screaming as I really didn't get scared during the presentation but I suppose its what one does when they are shocked by what they are witnessing. 

I've played a part of one of the games  and read up on the game's history as I was quite taken by it after seeing a music video done to scenes of the game. In fact I've downloaded 4 amvs done to various incarnations of the game and I must say they were quite intriguing. Anyway I don't really think I can give an account of the film justice and I will only say that one needs to see to believe. There have been changes made for the film version but they don't hinder the film's progress. I enjoyed it I guess is my final verdict. 

If you played the game or are intrigued by dark films then have a looksee but it is NOT a film for anyone under the age of 17. 16 is pushing it but I seriously warn against 14 - 15 yr-olds seeing this. It can give nightmares to those so inclined, and if you can't handle dark imagery then stay away.

I really couldn't handle The Exorcism of Emily Rose even though I went with 5 people to see it. I spent most of the movie with my hands over my ears , chewing gum and humming to  block out the sound. I also kept my hands over my eyes for much of the film. I suppose the scary nature of the film is what turned me off but I believe that there are things you don't mess with and its the reason that while I'd like to use an OUJA board I'll never bring one into my house. Anyway we went to see this movie at 10pm and frankly it gave me the willies to be out watching a scary movie that late. Being at a party is fine as there's positive energy there, being in a freezing enclosed space with a few dozen people thinking lord knows what while a mind-bending film is going on...no way.

Anyway I'm off to read some fics and mail some links to an imageboard to a friend.
