Yes I can barely believe it myself, but strangely I find myself with work but at the same time online reading some really good stuff that I had to pimp out. Anyway onto the recs.
Title: The Next Best Thing
Author: Emma Grant
Rating: NC-17
Pairing: Harry/Draco, with a side of Pansy
Summary: How does a boy get a girl to notice him? Why, by pretending to be gay, of course!
Length: Novella, about 26,350. Completed.
Notes: I was inspired to write this after watching the film Eating Out. Of course, I like my interpretation a lot better. ;-) Thanks to
jedirita and
charlotteschaos for the thoughtful betas.
Disclaimer: Not my characters, no copyright infringement intended.
This fic was absolutely beautiful and I mean that, the development was well thought out and the emotional interpretation for someone in the closet was spot on. I really enjoyed it.
In Good Time. HP/SS
After the war Harry continues on but not in the way one would think. Not your regular fic but nice all the same. Sweet really and well done. I enjoy a good plot and though short, this fic really supported itself.
[fic] mourning rites, pg
Title: Mourning Rites
Author: Hijja (kennahijja@yahoo.com)
Rating: PG
Characters: Dursleys, Ron
Wordcount: ~2100
Summary: They didn't empty Harry's room. Not of any of Harry's meagre possessions, not of any of Dudley's discarded toys.
Note: Written before HBP for the First Line Drabble Challenge for
switchknife's Convergence and grown a bit out of proportion... Beta-read and Britpicked by
chthonya.
Be warned this is a deathfic and though the death is not described there is a point where you get that gut-wrenching twist in the pit of your stomach and it lets you know that something struck a chord in you. Seriously well done.
Finally there's this site, REC RAINBOW and boy does it have the motherload. Any fandom and good recs for each. Frequently updated and IMHO quite excellent.
That's about it for now, hopefully more soon.
