Still January 1st in my neck of the woods and I hope that it turns out to be a great year. I'm really hoping to graduate this year, sign up for the JET programme and above all get down to 110 lbs.

It was a pretty special start to the new year in that we..my family and I... nearly missed the countdown and just made it in time and seconds after 2008 dawned it began to rain. LOL....washing away the sins of the past perhaps??? Anyway after a bit of intense rainfall it cleared up and we all went to bed...or rather I played some computer  games, my brother went to eat and my parents went to bed.

Hope everyone is well and all geared up to return to work and endeavour to make a difference this year. I have to return to work in 6 days on my Birthday no less but it is a Monday and my well earned vaction is officially nearing its end. **sniff...sob...wails** Oh the joy of returning to customer service.....I IZ SARKASTIC.....

Have a great year everyone!

Earthquake

There was a massive 7.3 earthquake today in the Caribbean. We felt it in Trinidad even though it originated near Martinique. It was very scary as the entire office building kept moving left to right and mind you its a glass plated building, we ran outside when the glass began to crack.....It was one of the largest earthquakes we've felt in a while considering that its epicenter was really far away from us.

Below are links to what's been put online so far, one even mentions Trinidad.
Strong earthquake hits Martinique
Magnitude-7.4 earthquake rocks Caribbean

I don't know if we'll feel aftershocks as the epicenter was far away but after that one I don't want to.

Ok so by now some people mught have gleaned from my sporadic posts that I tend to live in my head, a lot very much like JD of Scrubs fame , I too have a tendency to space out and go into my own mini-rant about things in general.  So therefore in an effort to keep track of  my own madness I've decided to post  my thoughts here.

Today  anyone who's interested will have the dubious pleasure of  reading about  my thoughts on the incongruencies of the office space....specifically the female bathroom.

Read at your own risk.

That is all.

No stay-free was harmed in the posting of this statement.......and also Stay-Free Maxi-pads and the like......old-fashioned much..... *god*

You know what the wonderful thing about finding a new fandom to love is? The plethora of fanfic, fanvids, icons, backgrounds and everything a nerdy geek could want just waiting to be read and embraced.

So I am in serious love with Stargate: Atlantis.

Yeah...I know that the fandom has been established for years and that's the great thing. I have everything I could want just waiting for me and for some reason the sheer love I have for the Sheppard/McKay/Ronon/Telya dynamic is astounding. Noramlly I'm not a fan of het but I read it for this fandom. Only within the team dynamic though but still!! Me! reading het! the mind boggles.

Right now I'm dl/ing vids and boy oh boy have I re-discovered my love for the slashy vid. LOL

Link post for myself.

I;m not sure I understand the part about, "Love to bust." What is that lol ?

Generally though most of it is pretty ok. I do take a long time to recover from hurt/disappointment etc so I guess the reading is accurate.

Well its official, we are in our new office space as of today November 12, 2007. Now there are plus points and minus points to this move.

Plus Points
1. Individual desk space.
2. I'm in the back away from the public so yay me.
3. I'm a bit away from the Boss, plus we can see her before she comes out
4. More privacy

Minus Points
1. We can't sneak away at any time as we have to directly pass the Boss's office so she'll see us.
2. We are really far away from any sort of food place so we have to plan our meals carefully.
3. There is no time during the day for any type of jaunts so that is a bit depressing. No more lunchtime trips
4. More privacy but there are still people behind me that I'd prefer weren't

There are good points and bad points about the whole thing but we'll have to work our way around certain things. Right now our Boss is like a fish out of water as she has to move up and down to check on us whereas before she could simply step out of her office and see everything. Lord I wonder if she'll tone down now or if she'll get worse time alone will tell.

I feel like I should weigh in on what's happening right at this moment in my home country. I'm sure I'm not alone when I say that hundreds of us across the nation are tuned in waiting patiently for the results of our general elections. I voted for change and I hope that if there is a controling entity that it will smile down upon us and enable the spirit of change to work in this country.

I feel very strongly in the belief that we alone can change our destiny, we can only effect change in our lives if we ourselves make it so. I always am dismayed when I hear that people don't vote because they feel that the politicans have failed them but the thing is if they don't vote then how can they ensure that that same politician doesn't return to power to do the same things? One must vote for change. I just hope that tonight we get the good news that change will be forthcoming.

In other news,  the year is drawing to a close and we're making ready to move to our new office building where we all get new desks.....yay.......Why we can't get new computers as well I don't know but dread at least we will be away from the public......Thank God!!!

We're going to employ Customer Service Reps who are going to have to come to the back to get us but dread now the public won't have our faces on their mind when they come to abuse us so that is great.

I hope that moving to this new bldg brings out a willingness to work together for the common good. I get very angry with the people I work with and I get horribly depressed so that I hope that as we move we also move with the intention to begin anew.

I honestly hope things go smoothly.
romyra: Icon by <lj user="moshesque"> (Default)
Well yes so I've been AWOL for a longish period. I haven't written anything on this journal that is meaningful for a long time and its not that I don't want to but more that I get depressed and just can't bring myself to bother to write anything. So yeah onto the long post from my corner of the world.

Its Elections time again and everyone is campaigning.....I've voted before but it did no good as the party that came into power made the country worse, and I say that because they have been in power for 10 years and yet there has been little or no development in this country. Crime is skyhigh, wages are poor, the judiciary system is totally fubar and frankly at this point I really hope that someone new comes into power on November 5th 2007.

I went to see Resident Evil: Extinction today with [profile] laurapetri and it was ok. Nothing to rave about but a good way to pass just about an hour and a half. We were originally not going to go as neitherof us felt like leaving the house but I'm glad we got out and saw the movie. Afterwards we walked through the mall which was open as there was going to be a fireworks display later on. We didn't want to stay for that as it would end too late and frankly we'd been out long enough. On a plus side I bought myself some Gummi worms and although I still have to get some soft serve ice-cream I was pleased with my purchase. Both of us are not supposed to have this much sugar but dread sometimes all you can do is eat and hope to work it off somehow. I was less happy with my attempts get home as travelling on a Sunday is quite rough.

Sometimes the people that live in this world amaze me and yet they shouldn't since I always seem to see the bad side of people. There were no cars on the stand this evening and I joined a line of about five persons waiting for transport to get home. There were 3 girls and 2 guys including myself, lined up there just waiting and here's the ocurrences in point form.

1. Young mother and children (2) nearly knocked down by a reversing driver who never looked back.
2. Two old men jump into the first car that came onto the stand completely disgregarding the fact that there was a clear line up.
3. When one of the women proceeds to make her disgust clear, the driver of the car insists that the two men leave his vehicle so that those waiting have first preference.
4. The full car leaves and the rest of us on the stand are treated to one of the men mumbling that, "he shoulda buss 2 slap in she mouth,."

Now really is this what you want pure strangers to hear you mumbling in public? Dread people are crazy in this place. Firstly he jumbied the line and  then wanted to put a beat down on a young woman because he was vex that she spoke her mind and made her stance clear. I find she was damn right to make him get out of the car. Not only did he come out of no where but its a late Sunday night and as a man its only polite to let a woman get transportation before you.

The age of chivalry is truly dead when a man wants to beat up a woman because he disliked the way she spoke to him. I listened to him and really such statements just enforce the fact that its going to be a cold day in hell before I ever enter into a relationship with anyone of the male species. I really hate men and incidences like this just enforce that hatred.

Sometimes the outside world beyond the confines of my apartment depresses me to the point of not wanting to go outside. I hate having to deal with people who just don't get that there is more to the world than just the routines that they follow. I mean that yes its election time again but people have a duty to make a stand for change and not vote for the person because you like the party they fall under. I want people to vote for change and not stagnancy.

But then again as I know from personal experience people are masses of stupid walking around and frankly whatever happens in this general election  doesn't have the power to surprise me as I really only expect the worse from those around me.

Oh well.

Anyway I need to get to bed as  I have that most dreaded of occurences tomorrow.....yes work after the weekend.

You want a dashing man of nobility and good social standing. He has high moral values but will be willing to bend the rules out of love for you. He may seem cold and distant at times but he has a good heart and will move heaven and earth to fulfill your every desire. Ganked from [personal profile] talonsage.  I seem only to be doing quizzes lately....oh well.

Your Score: Bi/Slightly Straight

You scored 2 (-52 being completely gay, 0 being bisexual, and 52 being completely straight)

For the most part, you are bisexual. You have a slight preference for the opposite gender, but either gender would suit you. If you are sexually inexperienced, it is possible that this will change after you do some experimenting.

FIC Search

I am hunting for a Highlander fic that I read a little while back and now can't remember who wrote it or where I found it. AAARRRRGHHH!

Any and all assistance would be deeply appreciated.

The Premise: Duncan and Methos are visited by a being from outer space who explains that immortals are the hybrid children of an advanced alien species. They came to check on the evolution of their children which is how D and M learn that The Game was never a part of the plan. They are able to experience a trip to the cosmos with their forefathers whohave no real gender as they can be whatever they choose.

Now my explanation is not that great and the fic sounds like a bad FF.net Mary-Sue. But the author really took a cliched topic and crafted a really interesting tale. I think it was a WIP and now I have no idea where I found it.....gah  I want to read it again.....

If anyone knows of a fic finder group please point me in  that direction. I'm going in circles looking for a hint of this fic on google.

Words search  combinations of Highlander, immortals and alien hybrids are giving me links to sci-fi magazines  <---Lord

Why is it that just when you think things are settling down stuff blows up in your face? I mean dread I just got paid, came back from a work related trip that lasted one day and one night and had a nice weekend at home. I come back to work, finally visit the new office building that we are supposed to move into within two weeks and today everything just goes to shit.

Seriously not even the promise of new anime is making me feel better.

Sometimes I really wonder why I bother to roll out of bed in the morning since I really don't see the point. What is all of this really for? I mean I work, get paid crap, don't really enjoy my money since it seems to run out so fast, and am  ever stressed.

I gained weight, weight that I lost so that depressed me.

I'm forever single...have been since I was born.

And frankly the lists of things that I hate/annoy me/make me miserable grows exponentionally.

I'd be better off if a bus hit me on my way home and I died.

Seriously.
